I have learned many things about India over these past few days. I have learned that India is the second populated country. In ten years they are excpected to pass China. Alot of India's population are poor and live in shanty towns. A shanty town is a slum settlement (sometimes illegal or unauthorized) of impoverished people who live in improvised dwellings made from scrap material. Life in these towns are hard to live in. Everyday you face danger wether it be prostitution, labor, or lack of needed materials.

Human Trafficing

Despite the reported extent of the trafficking crisis in India, government authorities made uneven efforts to prosecute traffickers and protect trafficking victims; government authorities continued to rescue victims of commercial sexual exploitation and forced child labor and child armed combatants, and began to show progress in law enforcement against these forms of trafficking; a critical challenge overall is the lack of punishment for traffickers, effectively resulting in impunity for acts of human trafficking.
It has seemed as if India is not trying to stop the problem. Kids are being exploited and that is not right. The kids in India are being stripped of their freedom and dignity. Little girls are being put on the streets and are being raped and doing sexual things. This is not the way these kids should have to live their lives. Billions of dollars are made each year from human trafficking. This is more than a problem. It has become a hard lifestyle that many in this world go through every day. Mostly kids from poor areas are taken to be used for trafficing. Some of the prostitutes are under the age of 18. Almost 200 women and young girls start prostituting each and every day. As a female you never know when u could possibly taken and forced to be a protitue. I am glad prostitution is not this bad in the U.S. We also need to stop this and I am glad our government tries to prevent our young women from living this lifestyle.

Mmbai riots

An estimated 575 Muslims and 275 Hindus died and 2,000 people were injured in the riots, and 250 people mostly Hindus died in the blasts. The riots started as a result of communal tension prevailing in the city. Many were killed. The riots were mostly caused by social indifference, government,or killings.

We watched more slum dog millionaire today. There was a riot and jamal's mother was killed during the fight. This helped jamal answer the question. while they were running they saw a god statue. The question was what was in the statue's right hand. The answer was a bow and arrow. We left off with the kids being hired as beggers trying to get money for a strange man.
